I am genuinely happy.
My skin isn't clear, my grades aren't perfect, and despite the years of hard work, my blog and YouTube channel...aren't what society would consider "successful".
But I don't care.
I don't care because
- I believe that my skin will clear up eventually
- My grades aren't perfect but I worked my butt off for them
- I finally feel like I know the direction I want my blog to go
- I put so much time and effort into my videos and I'm proud of them
I believe genuine happiness stems from self-acceptance. It's so important to love who you are. Cherish your imperfections. If you don't like something about yourself, YOU have the power to change it. It's all so cliché but it's cliché for a reason.
It's okay to make mistakes, it's okay to eat a entire cake by yourself (guilty), it's okay to feel like you need new friends, it's okay to be yourself, it's okay to get an F on a test you studied so hard on (again. guilty), it's okay to feel lost, and it's okay to not know who you are. It's okay because life is like that, but we have and always will overcome our struggles.
Maybe it was the vitamins from my acaí bowl, but as I was eating it, I felt this sense of happiness. I realized that I was finally at a time in my life where I felt genuinely happy. I was never the best at conveying my feelings through words, but I hope you were able to take something from this post.
I think I will create a new series where I give tips on how to steer your life towards positivity ^_^
What makes you happy?
Spending time with people who are positive is one thing that makes me happy :-)
P.S. Who wants a recipe for my acaí bowl and granola?!
That looks so yummy!
