Being Patriotic

Happy Independence Day!! Also known as one of the few days where I'm extremely patriotic, the other being during the Olympics.

I actually don't have plans this July 4th! Normally I'm either at a relative's house, celebrating with my family, or at my city's festival with some of my friends. 

Maybe I've just distanced myself away from the holiday too much, but none of it really appeals to me. Or maybe it's because I'm still recovering from my wisdom teeth extraction and am sitting at home trying (really hard) to eat a bowl of watermelon (most likely).

I remember the joys of walking around the festival with my friends, with a plate of funnel cake in hand, basking in the aroma of popcorn and cotton candy. But now that most of my friends are at different cities, it just doesn't seem the same. Nevertheless, I think my family and I are going to try to catch some glimpses of fireworks from our house or at least set off some sparklers :)

ALRIGHT- back to the outfit.

Can we talk about this denim dress from Old Navy for a moment? I'll be honest with you- it's literally a denim sack. But I love it. Somehow, it looks somewhat attractive when you put it on and it helps that it's also the most comfortable piece of clothing that I own. I paired it with some simple white sneakers and my star hoops to bring in some more USA pride.
